Baskent University Istanbul Application and Research Center, which started its service on February 23, 2007, is located in Altunizade district, Oymacı Sokak. It has entered as a new health facility built by Başkent University entirely with its own means and equipped with the most modern equipment, on its land at no.
The purpose of the establishment of our hospital is to provide safe, quality and fast health services to our patients. Our university's understanding of quality in health care has been certified with "TS-EN ISO 9001:2008". In this respect, our center is not different from the other 9 hospitals of Başkent University, spread across the country. To put it briefly, our center brings the knowledge and experience of Başkent University to Istanbul in a new building.
In addition to our main building with 115 beds, consisting of a closed area of approximately 13.000 m2, we provide service with our additional service polyclinics and our Cekmekoy Dialysis Center with 47 beds.
There are inpatient services on 2 floors in the main hospital building. Close monitoring and safety are at the forefront for patients hospitalized in the wards. The emergency warning system called “Code blue” and telemetric monitoring are among these security elements. Patients can be watched from fixed monitors in their sleeping places, as well as from monitors when they go out of their rooms. In this way, rhythm problems that may arise while walking around, even when not lying down, will be identified. The “Code Blue” system is activated when a warning is received from the nurse call systems in the patient's room and bathroom. An ever-present “emergency response team” arrives at the scene as soon as possible and undertakes the “resuscitation” that has already been initiated on-site. Whether this intervention is carried out at the required speed and whether the team arrives on time is supervised by the management.
The entire building is equipped with an air-pressure scuba transport system. With this system, all kinds of documents and materials of appropriate size can be transported quickly between floors and laboratories. In addition, technical features such as operating room, intensive care, heat and ventilation of floors, performance of generators are constantly monitored from the central automation control center. Uninterruptible power supplies are kept active in critical areas against power cuts. Baskent University, which continues its rapid development in Istanbul, has expanded its service area with new polyclinics.
